Driver Overview
This guide is for drivers using RouteBot to manage and operate transportation routes. Learn how to start routes, manage passengers, share your location, and complete services efficiently.
What Can Drivers Do?
As a driver using RouteBot Mobile, you can:
- Start and manage routes - Begin pickup and drop-off services
- Track your position - Share live location with parents and passengers
- Manage passengers - Mark students/employees as boarded or not boarded
- Send notifications - Automatically alert parents when approaching stops
- Navigate using maps - Use integrated Google Maps for directions
- Complete routes - Finish services with optional QR code verification
App Layout for Drivers
When you log in as a driver, you'll see two main tabs:

Your Responsibilities
As a driver operating through RouteBot:
Before Starting
- Ensure your device has sufficient battery
- Check that GPS/location is enabled
- Grant all required permissions
- Review your assigned routes
During Routes
- Keep the app open or running in background
- Follow the passenger list order when possible
- Mark passengers appropriately (boarded/not boarded)
- Keep your device charged
After Completing
- Properly end the route
- Complete QR verification if required
- Report any issues to your administrator
Route Types
You'll operate two types of routes:
Pickup/Collection Routes (Type 100 - "Toplama")
- Collect passengers from homes/stops
- Deliver to school or company
- Usually morning routes
- End at the destination (school/company)
Drop-off/Distribution Routes (Type 200 - "Dağıtma")
- Pick up from school or company
- Deliver passengers to homes/stops
- Usually afternoon/evening routes
- May require attendance check before leaving
Daily Workflow
Morning Pickup Route
- Open RouteBot and go to Services
- Find your morning route
- Tap to open and review passengers
- Tap Start to begin the route
- Your location sharing begins
- Mark passengers as you pick them up
- Use map/navigation to each stop
- Arrive at school/company
- Complete the route
Afternoon Drop-off Route
- Open RouteBot and find your afternoon route
- Tap to open
- Tap Start to begin
- Take attendance - mark who is boarding
- Tap Leave School/Company when departing
- Your location sharing begins
- Navigate to each stop
- Complete drop-offs
- End the route (QR code if required)
Understanding the Interface
When you open a route, you'll see three tabs:

Key Features
Live Location Sharing
- Your GPS position is sent automatically
- Parents/passengers see you on their map
- Updates every few seconds
- Works in background when route is active
Automatic Notifications
- System sends notifications when you approach stops
- Parents are alerted their bus is coming
- No manual action needed for approach alerts
Google Maps Integration
- Tap any stop for navigation
- Opens Google Maps with directions
- "Open Route" shows full route in Google Maps
Required Permissions
Drivers need several permissions:

Route Restrictions
Some important rules:
- Once per day: Routes can only be started once daily
- Time windows: Routes may have specific operating hours
- Cannot leave during active route: App warns before exiting
- Screen should stay on: Recommended for reliable tracking
Quick Tips for Drivers
Battery Management
- Start with full charge
- Bring a car charger
- Keep screen brightness moderate
- Location tracking uses battery
GPS Accuracy
- Wait for GPS lock before starting
- Keep phone near window for signal
- Avoid placing in metal containers
During Routes
- Keep app visible when possible
- Don't force-close the app
- Report any app issues to administrator
