Starting a Route
Learn how to properly start pickup and drop-off routes. This guide covers the process of beginning a route and what happens when you do.
Before You Start
Check These First
- Device battery - Sufficient charge for the entire route
- GPS enabled - Location services turned on
- Permissions granted - All required permissions allowed
- Good GPS signal - Wait for accurate position lock
Route Eligibility
You can only start a route if:
- It hasn't been started today (once per day limit)
- You're within the allowed time window (if configured)
- The route is assigned to you
Starting a Pickup Route (Morning)
Step 1: Select Your Route
- Open the app and go to Services
- Find your pickup route (Type: Toplama/Pickup)
- Tap to open the route
Step 2: Review Route Information
Before starting, you'll see:
- Route information card (school, vehicle, passenger count)
- List of passengers on the route
- Start button
Step 3: Start the Route
- Tap the START button
- A confirmation dialog appears:
- "A service can only be started once per day. Are you sure?"
- Tap Yes to confirm
What Happens When You Start
- Location tracking begins - Your GPS position is shared
- Status changes - Route becomes "Active"
- Parents are alerted - They can now track you on the map
- Timer starts - Route progress is tracked
Starting a Drop-off Route (Afternoon)
Drop-off routes have an additional attendance step.
Step 1: Select Your Route
- Open the app and go to Services
- Find your drop-off route (Type: Dağıtma/Drop-off)
- Tap to open the route
Step 2: Start the Route
- Tap the START button
- Confirm when prompted
Step 3: Take Attendance
After starting a drop-off route:
- You enter "Preparing at School" status
- You see the passenger list with checkboxes
- Tap each passenger who is boarding
- This marks who is on the bus
Step 4: Leave the School/Company
After marking attendance:
- Verify all boarding passengers are marked
- Tap LEAVE SCHOOL/COMPANY button
- Confirm when prompted
- Location tracking begins
- Parents of marked passengers receive "Left School" notifications
Time Window Restrictions
If your route has time restrictions:
Route Within Time Window
- START button works normally
- Proceed with starting the route
Route Outside Time Window
- You'll receive an alert
- Message shows allowed hours: "You can only start this route between [start] - [end]"
- Wait until the allowed time window
Confirmation Dialogs
When starting a route, you'll see confirmations:
Standard Start Confirmation
[Route Name] - [Type] will be started.
"A service can only be started once per day. Are you sure?"
[No] [Yes]
Important Notes in Confirmation
If background location tracking might have issues, you may see:
"KEEP THE SCREEN ON FOR THE SYSTEM TO WORK PROPERLY.
A service can only be started once per day. Are you sure?"
This reminds you that screen visibility helps maintain tracking.
What Activates When You Start
| Feature | Status |

| GPS tracking | Active - sending position updates |
| Parent/passenger map | Can see your location |
| Approach notifications | Will trigger when you near stops |
| Background tracking | Active even if app minimized |
| Screen wake lock | Screen stays on during route |
Passenger List After Starting
Once started, the passenger list shows:
- All passengers on the route
- Status indicators for each
- Action buttons for each passenger
- Order for pickup/drop-off

Cannot Start Twice
Routes can only be started once per day:
- After completion, the route cannot restart
- This prevents duplicate tracking
- If issues occur, contact your administrator
Troubleshooting Start Issues
"Route can only be started between..."
- You're outside the allowed time window
- Wait for the permitted hours
- Contact administrator if times seem wrong
"Route already started/completed"
- The route was already run today
- Cannot start again until tomorrow
- Check if it's the correct route
START button not responding
- Check permissions are granted
- Ensure good internet connection
- Try closing and reopening the route
- Restart app if necessary
Location not available
- Enable GPS on your device
- Wait for GPS lock
- Move to area with better satellite visibility
- Check location permissions
Best Practices
Timing
- Start route on time as scheduled
- Don't start too early or parents aren't ready
- Account for preparation time
Verification
- Confirm you're starting the correct route
- Check passenger count seems right
- Verify route type (pickup vs. drop-off)
Position
- Ensure accurate GPS before starting
- Be in your starting location
- Wait for location indicator to be stable
