Personnel/Employee Overview

This guide is for employees and personnel using RouteBot to track their company shuttle transportation. Learn how to monitor your commute and stay informed about your shuttle service.

What Can Personnel/Employees Do?

As an employee using RouteBot Mobile, you can:

  • Track your shuttle in real-time on a live map
  • See estimated pickup times when available
  • Receive notifications when the shuttle approaches your stop
  • View driver information including name and phone number
  • Contact the driver directly from the app
  • View your stop assignments for pickup and drop-off

App Layout for Employees

When you log in as personnel/employee, you'll see two main tabs:

Personnel vs. Parent Experience

The RouteBot app works similarly for both parents and employees, with some differences:

Your First Day

Here's what to expect when using the app for the first time:

Before Your Shift

  1. Open the app and log in with your registered phone number
  2. Grant notification permission when prompted
  3. You should see your shuttle service(s) in the Services list

On a Work Day

Morning Shuttle:

  1. Open the app before pickup time
  2. Tap on your morning/pickup service
  3. When the shuttle starts, you'll see it on the map
  4. Watch as it approaches your stop
  5. Receive a notification when it's near

Evening Shuttle:

  1. Open the app when your shift ends
  2. Tap on your evening/drop-off service
  3. Track the shuttle as it heads to your stop
  4. Receive a notification when it's approaching

Understanding Your Services

Your services list may include:

Standard Personnel Services

  • Regular shuttle routes for your commute
  • Morning pickup to work
  • Evening drop-off from work

Shift-Based Services

If you work shifts:

  • Services tied to your specific shift
  • Different shuttles for different shift times
  • Services update based on your shift assignment

Pickup and Drop-off Stops

As an employee, you may have assigned stops:

Stop Type Description
Get On Stop Where you board the shuttle (morning)
Get Off Stop Where you exit the shuttle (evening)

These stops may be:

  • Your home address
  • A central collection point (metro station, bus stop, etc.)
  • A designated meeting location

If No Services Appear

If you don't see any services in the app:

  1. Wait for assignment - Your company needs to add you to a service
  2. Check with HR - Verify your transportation registration
  3. Contact provider - Use the contact information shown

The app displays a helpful message with contact information if no services are assigned yet.

Shift Information

If you work rotating shifts:

  • Your services may change based on your current shift
  • Shift changes are managed by your employer
  • Notification options may include shift change alerts

Shift Change Notifications

Some companies enable notifications when your shift is changed. This helps you know when your transportation schedule has been updated.

Quick Tips for Employees

Stay Informed

  • Enable approach notifications to know when your shuttle is near
  • Keep the app updated for the latest features
  • Check the app before your expected pickup time

Understand the Map

  • Green house/stop marker - Your pickup/drop-off location
  • Company marker - Your workplace location
  • Bus/Vehicle marker - Current shuttle position (when active)

When Things Look Wrong

  • Location only updates when the service is active
  • May take a moment to refresh
  • Check with coworkers if experiencing issues

Multiple Services

You may have multiple services assigned:

  • Pickup service (to work)
  • Drop-off service (from work)
  • Services for different shift patterns

Each appears as a separate entry in your Services list.

Support for Employees

If you need help:

  1. In-App Support - Go to Settings > Support (if enabled)
  2. Help Screen - Go to Settings > Help for contact information
  3. HR Department - Contact your company's HR or transportation coordinator
  4. Transportation Provider - Contact the shuttle company directly
